Not Showing Up For Jury Duty (Flashback Poem)

What more can I say

What more can I argue

Without action, I’m stuck in the vicious cycle of reaction

Up until now it’s all been talk

Its all been nothing but talk

I sit, I stand, craving to lay under the covers

Where it’s safe but hopeless, redundant, and morbid

I picture the white flag, calling out for a stalemate while grasping onto the last shard of resistance

Letting it slice my hand

I’ll bleed it out

Yeah….

I’ll just bleed it out
